Mark is presently working at Ozark Center/New Directions in the Neosho Office. Mark has been in the field of counseling for 33 years working in a multitude of settings.  He has a passion to increase professional competency and development in the field and works to increase a quality work force to address the needs of those with life controlling problems.

Biography

Biography: Mark is presently working at Ozark Center/New Directions in the Neosho Office. Mark has been in the field of counseling for 33 years working in a multitude of settings ranging from Treatment Court settings, working with those involved in the Department of Corrections, detox, residential, Outpatient Services, Recovery Housing, Recovery Supports, and private practice. Mark was also instrumental in the development of a jail program to assist with those that find themselves between services due to incarceration. Mark is a national trainer, a trainer for ATTC, Vice President and Member at Large with the Missouri Credentialing Board, and is Secretary for the Missouri Continuing Education Consortium. Mark continues to work in the profession to increase professional competency and development in the field and works to increase a quality work force to address the needs of those with life controlling problems.

Topic: Ethics              Title: Professional Readiness

Synopsis: Addiction professionals work in a broad variety of disciplines but share an understanding of the addictive process that goes beyond the narrow confines of any one specialty. Specific proficiencies, skills, levels of involvement with clients, and scope of practice vary widely among specializations. At their base, however, all addiction-focused disciplines are built on four common foundations. We are going to discuss the Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes surrounding Professional Readiness and our Ethical Responsibilities.
